| Notes on Using the E8 Emulator Software
in Combination with the DocumentUpdater
or the SQMlint (MISRA C Rule Checker) |
After the E8 emulator software has been installed, the DocumentUpdater or the SQMlint (MISRA C rule checker) may not be installed.
- Products and Versions Concerned
- The E8 emulator software V.2.06 Release 00 through V.2.07 Release 01
- All the versions of the DocumentUpdater
- All the versions of the SQMlint (MISRA C rule checker)
- Problem

In a combination of the E8 emulator software and the DocumentUpdater
If the DocumentUpdater is installed after the E8 emulator software, the message shown below will be dispatched, resulting in the installation being not completed.

Please install High-Performance Embedded Workshop (M3T-NC30WA V.5.40 Release 00, M3T-NC308WA V.5.40 Release 00, SHC V.9.00 Release 04 or H8C V.6.01 Release 02). |

In a combination of the E8 emulator software and the SQMlint (MISRA C rule checker)
The installer of the SQMlint presents the list of the compilers to be used in combination with the SQMlint in order that the user can select any one of them. However, if the SQMlint is installed after the E8 emulator software, the evaluation versions of the compilers for the M16C family may be lost in the above list.
So, if you want to select these evaluation versions, you have to cancel the installation of the SQMlint. |
- Conditions
This problem occurs if the products concerned are installed by performing the following procedures:

Either of the following compiler packages for the M16C family is installed together with the E8 emulator software:
- The evaluation software of the M3T-NC308WA C-compiler package (for the M32C series)
- The evaluation software of the M3T-NC30WA C-compiler package (for the M16C and R8C/Tiny series)

After installing the above products, the DocumentUpdater or the SQMlint (MISRA C rule checker) is installed. |
- Workarounds
Download either of the following C compiler packages (.exe files) for the M16C family from Renesas's Web page* and execute it:
- The evaluation software of the M3T-NC308WA V.5.40 Release 00 or later (for the M32C series)
- The evaluation software of the M3T-NC30WA V.5.40 Release 00A or later (for the M16C and R8C/Tiny series)

- Schedule of Fixing the Problem
We have fixed this problem in the E8 emulator software V.2.08 Release 00.
