A Note on Using
the High-performance Embedded Workshop V.4.01.00

Please take note of the following problem in using the High-performance Embedded Workshop:
  • On using the DocumentUpdater

  1. Description
If you create a workspace with a C compiler package and open it using the High-performance Embedded Workshop V.4.01.00, you may not invoke the DocumentUpdater with the following message accompanied:
"There is no corresponding Layer ID. Please confirm your device name."

To check for the version number of your High-performance Embedded Workshop, open the Help menu and select the About High-performance Embedded Workshop command.

  2. Conditions
This problem occurs if a workspace is created using any of the following C compiler packages:

    (1)   The C compiler package V.5.40 Release 00 for the M32C/90, M32C/80, and M16C/80 series
    (2)   The C compiler package V.5.40 Release 00 and V.5.40 Release 00A for the M16C/60, M16C/30, M16C/20, M16C/10, M16C/Tiny, and R8C/Tiny series
    (3)   The C/C++ compiler package V.9.00 Release 04 Windows edition for the SuperH RISC engine family
    (4)   The C/C++ compiler package V.6.01 Release 02 Windows edition for the H8, H8S, and H8SX families

  3. Solution
Please send the following two .hwp files to us by E-mail; we will rectify and send back the files to you:
    • project name.hwp
    • old_version_XXX_project name.hwp
These files reside in the project-saving directory under the working directory where the workspace has been created.

If the old_version_XXX_project name.hwp file is not found, let us know the type and series of the CPU you selected in the New Project- 1/9-Select Target CPU, Toolchain Version dialog box when you created the workspace.

Note that these .hwp files do not contain any information on user programs and targeted products.

    SEND TO
Your local Renesas Technology sales office or distributor

  4. Schedule of Fixing the Problem
We plan to fix this problem in the next release of the product.
