Revised to V.1.08 Release 00

We have revised the Debugging Extension from V.1.07 Release 00 to V.1.08 Release 00. The Debugging Extension is the utility program for adding real-time-OS debugging capability to the High-performance Embedded Workshop and the Real-Time OSes. For details of the program, see its datasheets.

  1. The Real-Time OSes and the High-performance Embedded Workshops Involved
    1.1   Real-Time OSes
The Debugging Extension V.1.08 Release 00 supports the following real- time OSes:
    • HI7000/4, HI7700/4, HI7750/4, HI7300/PX, and T-Kernel (for the SuperH family)
    • HI1000/4 (for the H8SX family)
    • HI2000/3 (for the H8S family)
    1.2   High-performance Embedded Workshops
The Debugging Extension V.1.08 Release 00 can run on the High- performance Embedded Workshop V.3 or later. If you are using any version of the High-performance Embedded Workshop earlier than V.3, visit the download site shown below to upgrade it to V.3 or later.

  2. Descriptions of Revision
    2.1   Functions Introduced and Improved
    (1)   The task tracing function introduced in the RTOS Trace window (the T-Kernel excluded):
If the debugging function of the Kernel is embedded into a user program, information on tracing service calls is provided in the RTOS Trace window, and if not, information on tracing tasks is provided in the window.

    (2)   The service-call tracing functions improved in the RTOS Trace window (HI7000/4, HI7700/4, HI7750/4, and HI2000/3 only):
When the target tracing function * is used, the time is displayed in the HI7000/4 series, and the kernel's system clock is in the HI2000/3.
*. The function of saving the history of service calls on target memory

    (3)   The execution rate of each program improved:
When the execution rate of each program is displayed in the RTOS Trace Statistics dialog box, the maximum, minimum, and mean time can be provided as well as the total time.

    (4)   The function of enabling/disabling the RTOS Trace window introduced:
If the window is enabled, RTOS trace information is captured and displayed. The default setting is "Disable".

    (5)   Queue sheets improved:
The maximum number of queues displayed in the queue sheet of each window can be specified. Unless the maximum number is zero, queue information is captured and displayed.
    The default setting is "0".
