A Note on Using Flash Development Toolkit V.4.00

Please take note of the problem described below in using Flash Development Toolkit V.4.00. (This toolkit is used for the SuperH RISC engine, M16C, H8SX, H8S, H8, and 740 families of MCUs to program on-chip flash memory.)

1. Product Concerned
   Flash Development Toolkit V.4.00

2. Problem
If you open data files in the Editor window of the product that is
displaying numbers in hexadecimal notation after creating a new
workspace for any member of the flash memory version of the 740 MCU
family, values of incorrect addresses will be highlighted on screen
as ID codes. At the same time, information on these incorrect ID codes
will also be provided in the Output window.
Note that this problem arises only in the 740 family; not in the others.

The member of MCUs supported by Flash Development Toolkit V.4.00 can be
   seen on the web page.

3. Workaround
Restart Flash Development Toolkit after creating a new workspace
to open it. Then open data files in the Editor window displaying
numbers in hexadecimal notation, and ID codes of correct addresses
will be highlighted; information on them be reflected in the Output
   window.

4. Schedule of Fixing the Problem
We plan to fix this problem in the product's V.4.01 Release 00, which
we will schedule to publish on January 2008.
