| Flash Development Toolkit Revised to V.3.07 Release 03 |
We have revised Flash Development Toolkit from V.3.07 Release 02 to
V.3.07 Release 03. (This toolkit is used for the SuperH RISC engine, M16C,
H8SX, H8S, H8, and 740 families of MCUs to program on-chip flash memory.)
1. Descriptions of Revision
1.1 Supported MCUs Increased
The following MCUs have been added to the support line:
(1) In the H8 family (3 MCUs)

Note that the flash memory in the above MCUs can be programmed
only via the E8 emulator.

The flash memory in this MCU can also be programmed only via the E8.
1.2 A Problem with the Firmware for the E8 Emulator Resolved
Resolved has been the problem with the firmware for the E8 that
signals may conflict with each other in the E8 when flash memory in
the 740 family is programmed using the toolkit and the E8.
NOTICE:
If you use any of the versions of the toolkit shown in (1) below with
the E8 for a long time to program flash memory in any of the MCUs
listed in (2), programming will be performed correctly, but the E8
may suffer a breakdown. So in such a case use Flash Development
Toolkit V.3.07 Release 03 or later.

2. How to Update Your Product
Free-of-charge online update is available. Download the installer of
the latest version of the toolkit from the Web site at
http://www.renesas.com/fdt_download
and execute it. This site will be opened from August 6 on.
Note that you are not able to update your toolkit to V.3.07 Release 03
using AutoUpdate Utility.
3. Notices
(1) This revision is not the one from Flash Development Toolkit V.4.00
Release 00, but for making V.3 capable of supporting the MCUs added
to the support line in V.4.00 Release 00.
(2) If you execute AutoUpdate Utility in the PC where Flash Development
Toolkit V.3.07 Release 03 has been installed, the evaluation version
of Toolkit V.4 will be installed.
