1. Product and Versions Concerned
The R8C/Tiny E8 emulator debugger V.2.03.00 and earlier
(These are included in the E8 emulator software V.2.07 Release 01 and
earlier.)
2. Description
Using the product concerned may cause "Communication Timeout Error"
to arise when communication with the MCU has been established.
3. Conditions
This problem occurs if the following conditions are all satisfied:
(1) The R8C/Tiny E8 emulator debugger V.2.03.00 or earlier is used.
To check for the debugger's version, open the Tools menu in
High-performance Embedded Workshop and select the Administration
command. The Administration dialog box appears, showing you the
Registered Components list box. Then read the version number of
the component "R8C E8 SYSTEM" in the Debugger Components folder,
which is displayed in the above list box.
(2) Any of the following MCUs in the R8C/Tiny series is used in your
system:

4. Solution
Use E8 Emulator Software V.2.09 Release 02 or later.
5. How to Update Your Emulator Software
Free-of-charge online update is available.
Download the installer for the latest version from the Web site at
http://www.renesas.com/e8_download
and execute it.
