| Notes on Using High-performance Embedded Workshop (IDE)
--Problems with Projects and Builds-- |
Please take note of the following problems in using High-performance
Embedded Workshop:*
- With customizing of linkage order
- With using Custom Project Types
- With using functions for sharing projects by network facilities
*High-performance Embedded Workshop is bundled with the compilers and
other software products that it manages.
1. Problem with Customizing of Linkage Order
1.1 Description
If you add object files and library files to the objects to be linked
by the optimizing linkage editor and change linking order using the
capability of customizing of linkage order in High-performance Embedded
Workshop, build may not perform the linking of objects in the specified
order.
1.2 Condition
This problem occurs when you use the optimizing linkage editor in the
C/C++ compiler package for the SuperH MCU family or the one for the
H8SX, H8S, and H8 MCU families.
1.3 Workaround
Perform the following procedure. If you perform this once, no problem
will occur every time you change linking order.
(1) Open the Build menu and select the Linkage Order command. The
Linkage Order dialog box appears.
(2) Click the OK button. (At this time you can change or need not
to change linking order.)
(3) Open the Build menu and select the Build All command.
1.4. Schedule of Fixing the Problem
This problem has been fixed in High-performance Embedded Workshop
V.4.04.00, which was released in this December 16.
For details of High-performance Embedded Workshop V.4.04.00, see
RENESAS TOOL NEWS Document No. 071216/tn5, published on December 16,
2007, in this series of news.
2. Problem with Using Custom Project Types
2.1 Description
New projects can easily be created by using a Custom Project Type
(a template for creating new projects), which is created from an
original project.
When you create a project using a Custom Project Type, incorrect
paths of source files may be registered in the project.
2.2 Condition
This problem occurs if you use a Custom Project Type created from
an original project whose source files are not under the Projects
directory.
2.3 Workaround
Use Custom Project Types created from original projects whose source
files are under the Projects directory.
3. Problem with Using Functions for Sharing Projects by Network Facilities
3.1 Description
When you use functions for sharing projects by network facilities in
High-performance Embedded Workshop V.4.02.00 or V.4.03.00, the IDE
may abnormally be terminated.
To check for the version number of your High-performance Embedded
Workshop, open the Help menu and select the About High-performance
Embedded Workshop command.
3.2 Solution
This problem has been fixed in High-performance Embedded Workshop
V.4.04.00, which was released in this December 16.
For details of High-performance Embedded Workshop V.4.04.00, see
RENESAS TOOL NEWS Document No. 071216/tn5, published on December 16,
2007, in this series of news.
