A Note on Using the C Compiler Packages for the M16C MCU Family

Please take note of the following problem in using the C compiler packages for the R32C/100 series; for the M32C series (M3T-NC308WA); and for the M16C series (M3T-NC30WA) of MCUs:
  • With using preprocess command #error

1. Products and Versions Concerned
   (1) C compiler package for the R32C/100 series
         V.1.01 Release 00

   (2) C compiler package for the M32C series (M3T-NC308WA)
         V.5.20 Release 1 through V.5.41 Release 01

   (3) C compiler package for the M16C series (M3T-NC30WA)
         V.5.20 Release 1 through V.5.43 Release 00

2. Description
If any build is performed, High-performance Embedded Workshop may be
abnormally terminated when the C source file contains the #error
   preprocess command with no arguments.

3. Workaround
If High-performance Embedded Workshop is abnormally terminated, pass
an argument to the #error preprocess command.

4. Schedule of Fixing the Problem
This problem is due to several modules of the High-performance Embedded
Workshop included in each of the compiler packages involved.
So we are fixing this problem in the next release of those compilers
by including the problem-fixed modules with their packages.
