A Note on Using High-performance
Embedded Workshop
--With Loading Modules When the IDE
and the Target Platform Linked--

Please take note of the following problem in using High-performance Embedded Workshop:
  • With loading modules when the IDE and the target platform linked
High-performance Embedded Workshop is bundled with the compilers and other software products that it manages.

1. Product and Versions Concerned
   High-performance Embedded Workshop V.4.01.01 through V.4.04.01

To check to see the version number of your High-performance Embedded
Workshop, open the Help menu and select the About High-performance
   Embedded Workshop command.

2. Description
If two or more modules are loaded by using the function for automatically
loading modules on the target platform (NOTE 1), one module only may be
loaded after High-performance Embedded Workshop has been linked with the
   target platform (NOTE 2).

   NOTES:
     1. To load modules automatically after linking the IDE and the target
platform, select the Download automatically on target connection
check box in the Download Module dialog box.
To open the Download Module dialog box, follow these steps:
        (1) Open the Debug menu and click Debug Settings to open the
            Debug Settings dialog box.
        (2) Double-click any module name in the Download modules
list, which appears in the above dialog box.

     2. To link the IDE with the target platform, do any of the following
        actions:
        - Open the Debug menu and click Connect.
        - Open the File menu and click Open Workspace.
        - Open the Debug menu and click Debug Sessions to open the
Debug Sessions dialog box; then change a debug session to
another in the Current session list.

2.1 Conditions
This problem may occur if the following check boxes are both selected:
    (1) The Reset CPU after download module check box
To see this check box, click the Options tab in the Debug Settings
        dialog box.
    (2) The Run to main function on reset check box
To see this check box, follow these steps:
(2.1) Open the Setup menu and click Options.
(2.2) In the Options dialog box that appears, click the Debug tab.

3. Workaround
If this problem has occurred, perform the following steps:
   (1) Clear the Run to main function on reset check box.
   (2) Select the Display main function on download check box, which is
in the area containing the check box in (1).
   (3) Perform an action of linking High-performance Embedded Workshop
with the target platform, and modules will be loaded and the
source file containing a main function be opened.
   (4) Then open the Debug menu and click Go To Cursor.

4. Schedule of Fixing the Problem
We plan to fix this problem in the next release of the product.
