We have revised the C/C++ compiler package for the H8SX, H8S, and H8 MCU
families V.6.02 Release 01 to V.6.02 Release 02.
1. Product and Versions to Be Updated
The C/C++ compiler package for the H8SX, H8S, and H8 families
V.6.00 Release 00 through V.6.02 Release 01
2. Descriptions of Revision
2.1 High-performance Embedded Workshop Updated
The High-performance Embedded Workshop included in the compiler package
has been updated from V.4.04.01 to V.4.07.00. For details of the
revision, which was made in four steps, see the following RENESAS TOOL

2.2 Simulator Debugger Updated
The simulator debugger included in the compiler package has been
updated from V.5.06.00 to V.5.08.00. For details of the revision, which

2.3 Problems Fixed in the Compiler
The following problems have been fixed:
(1) The two problems reported in RENESAS TOOL NEWS Document No.
090901/tn2
- With volatile-qualified local variables and non-volatile-
qualified global variables (H8C-0084)
- With member values of structure-type or union-type variables
(H8C-0085)

(2) Problem with outputting the following internal errors during
compilation:
Error numbers 4098, 4099, 4677, and 4711
2.4 Problems Fixed in the Optimizing Linkage Editor
The following problems, which were reported in RENESAS TOOL NEWS
Document No. 090116/tn2, have been fixed:
- With overlaying sections with different alignment numbers each
other (LNK-0004)
- With using the data_stuff and nooptimize options in linking
(LNK-0005)

3. How to Update Your Product and Purchase the Revised One
3.1 Updating
When you are using the product to be updated, online update is
available free of charge. Update yours in either of the following ways:
(1) Use AutoUpdate Utility. This service will be available on and after
December 24.
(2) Download the update program of the product from:
http://www.renesas.com/h8c_download
Then execute it. This site will be opened from December 21.
3.2 First Ordering
We have stopped selling the V.6 product of this compiler package.
We released a V.7 product of this compiler package on September 1,
2009: the C/C++ compiler package for the H8SX, H8S, and H8 families
V.7.00 Release 00.
Because the problems fixed in the compiler and the optimizing linkage
editor, which are described in sections 2.3 and 2.4 above, have also
been fixed in the V.7.00 Release 00 product, you are encouraged to
purchase V.7.00 Release 00.
