Upgraded Versions Announcement

This is to announce that the following upgrade services are available to the customers of emulation pod M37902T-RPD-E for the 7900 series MCUs:
- Products Concerned
- Emulation pod for the 7902 group MCUs: M37902T-RPD-E
- Upgrade of MCUs without Charge
- The MCU of the product concerned can be upgraded free of charge.
- Note:
When you are using the emulation pod and the pod probe in the following combination, this upgrade is not needed:
* M37900T2-RPD-E + M37902T-PRB
- 2.1 Descriptions of Upgrade
- (1) The functions of rewriting memory in the internal flash ROM area and setting software breakpoints are provided when the emulation pod is used together with emulator debugger PD79 V.3.10, which was just released on November 1.
- (2) M37902T-RPD-E is capable of debugging the M37902FJCHP MCU (with 498KB of ROM and 12KB of RAM).
- 2.2 How to Upgrade Pods
- Please fill in "M37902T-RPD-E MCU Free-of-Charge Application Form" and send it to your local Mitsubishi electric sales office or distributor by fax or E-mail. We will ship the following product to you according to your application:
- * M37902T-RPDM: Upgraded-MCU-mounted pc board for M37902T-RPD-E
- For information on how to replace the MCU, refer to the manual enclosed with the upgraded MCU.
- 2.3 Effective Date of Application
- From November 1, 2000, to March 30, 2001, inclusive.
- Note that the upgrade will be serviced only with extra charge after the expiration date.
- 2.4 Notice
- Be aware that it may take a maximum of one month to ship products depending on circumstances.
- Upgrade to M37900T2-RPD-E with Extra Charge
- The M37902T-RPD-E can be upgraded to new emulation pod M37900T2-RPD-E with extra charge. This pod is used as a common pod for all the 7900 series MCUs.
- Note:
- As the pod probe (M37902T-PRB, for example) is dependent on the type of MCU, it is excluded from this upgrade. If necessary, please purchase it as an option.
- 3.1 Descriptions of Upgrade
- (1) Mounting an emulation MCU directly above the user target board improves equivalency to the actual MCU.
- (2) Because each pod probe is available as an option, such a new MCU as M37911 can easily be supported in a lower cost.
- 3.2 How to Upgrade Pods
- Please place your order (the type name and comment needed are shown below), spell out that you want upgrade in the repair request form, then, send it and your current product to your local Renesas Technology sales office or distributor.
