Announcement
Free-of-Charge Upgrade of MCU Board
for M306N0TB-RPD-E (Specific Product)

This is to announce that the MCU board--M306N0T-PRTM--on emulation pod M306N0TB-RPD-E specifically manufactured for the M16C/6N group MCUs will be upgraded to the new MCU board--M30620T-PRTM--free of charge.


  1. Products Concerned
    All the M306N0TB-RPD-E products whose serial numbers end with
    (1) any number, or
    (2) any character from "A" to "F" inclusive.
    Examples: 9HS001, 9HS002A, 0IS109F, and so on
    (If the serial number of yours ends with "G", it come with a new board.)

  2. Descriptions of Upgrade
    (1) Port pins P71 and P91 are configured as N-channel open-drain outputs as those of actual MCUs are.
    (2) Programs can be executed with bit 7 at address 0005h (wait bit PM17) being set to "1".
    (3) The ASU (acceptance filter) function is made available.
    Note:
    Because the problem on detecting the stop of oscillation has not yet been fixed, do not use the read-modify-write instruction for the oscillation stop detection register.

  3. How to Upgrade Current Product
    Fill in the appended "Upgraded MCU Board for M306N0TB-RPD-E Application Form" and send it by mail to your local Renesas Technology sales office or distributor.

    We will ship to you one upgraded MCU board per emulation pod by return, so replace your board with the upgraded one in accordance with the "Guide of Replacement of M30620T-PRTM Board" enclosed with the board.


  4. Effective Date of Application
    From February 1, 2001, to January 31, 2002, inclusive
