Precautions

Please take note of the following problem in using simulator debuggers and emulator debuggers for Mitsubishi microcomputers:
  • On debugging target programs during execution of them

  1. Versions Concerned
All the versions of the following products are concerned.
    1.1 Simulator Debuggers
    For the M32R family: PD32RSIM
For the M16C/80 series MCUs: PD308SIM
For the M16C/60 and /20 series MCUs: PD30SIM
For the 7900 series MCUs: PD79SIM
For the 7700xx series MCUs: PD77SIM
For the 740 family MCUs: PD38SIM

    1.2 Emulator Debuggers
For the M32R family MCUs: PD32000
    : PD32R
For the M16C/80 series MCUs: PD308
For the M16C/60 and /20 series MCUs: PD30
For the 7900 series MCUs: PD79
For the 7700xx series MCUs: PD77
For the 740 family MCUs: PD38

1.3 Emulator Debuggers Dedicated to the Compact Emulator
    For M30800T-CPE: PD308M
    For M30620T-CPE: PD30M

  2. Description
If you try to open dialog boxes (for setting breakpoints and changing windows etc.) during execution of target programs, those dialog boxes may not appear, and the subsequent operations become frozen.

    2.1 Condition
This problem may occur when you have opened lots of the RAM monitor, ASM watch and other windows that utilize the RAM monitoring function at a time.
Note that the condition varies with host machine environments (CPU's performance etc.), communication interfaces, and the number of windows that have been opened.

  3. Workaround
Press the Alt key, and dialog boxes appear; then, the subsequent operations will be performed.

  4. Schedule of Fixing the Problem
We plan to fix this problem in our next release.
