Free Replacement of Programming Adapters
PCA7435GPG02, PCA7435GP, and PCA7442FP

This is to announce that programming adapters PCA7435GPG02, PCA7435GP, and PCA7442FP will be replaced with their refined versions free of charge.
- Products Concerned
- The following programming adapters are concerned, which are used for MCUs packaged in 32-pin, 0.8-mm-pitch QFP:
- (1) PCA7435GPG02 for 740 series (753x, 754x groups)
- (2) PCA7435GP for 740 series (753x, 754x groups)
- (3) PCA7442FP for 4513 group
- Note that the similar products shown below are not involved.
- (1) PCA7435FPG02: used for different packages
- (2) PCA7435SPG02: used for different packages
- (3) PCA7435GPG03: already refined
- (4) PCA7442FPG02: already refined
- Description
It has been found that when the above programming adapters are used for MCUs in the new package 32P6U, MCUs are inserted to and extracted from the adapters with a lot of difficulty.
- Cause
Now, the type of 32-pin, 0.8-mm-pitch QFP package of our MCUs are changing from 32P6B to 32P6U. Though these two types of package are the same in the principal dimensions of their outlines, the tolerance of the lead width is not the same.
As a result, the clearance between MCU packages and sockets on the adapters is inadequate, preventing easy insertion and extraction of MCUs.
- Solution
We will replace your adapter with a refined one without charge, if your product has not already been refined.
New adapters, PCA7435GPG03 and PCA7442FPG02, can be used also for MCUs in the earlier package 32P6B.
