MM V.3.00 Release 1
Precaution

Please take note of the following problems in using Mitsubishi Maskfile converter MM V.3.00 Release 1 for Mitsubishi's microcomputers:
  • On filename extensions of OSD font data files
  • On making mask files by using the Create Mask File wizard

  1. Problem on Filename Extensions of OSD Font Data Files
    1.1 Description
Extension ".hfd" or others cannot be used for names of OSD font data files because the legal filename extensions of hexadecimal data files at creating mask files are limited only to ".hex", ".mot", and ".s".

    1.2 Workaround
Create mask files after changing the filename extension of your OSD font data files to ".hex".

1.3 Schedule of Fixing the Problem
We plan to fix this problem in our next release.

  2. Problem on Creating Mask Files by Using the Create Mask File Wizard
    2.1 Description
Data for setting mask available areas may not be specified by using the Create Mask File wizard.

    2.2 Conditions
This problem occurs if the following two conditions are satisfied when you enter your microcomputer information in MM using its Microcomputer Information Settings Dialog box:
    (1) The "Using the data for setting the mask available area" check box has been checked on.
    (2) The "Using the mask option" check box has been checked off.

    2.3 Workaround
When creating mask files by using the Create Mask File wizard, be sure to check on the "Using the mask option" check box in the Microcomputer Information Settings Dialog box.

If the "Using the mask option" check box in the Microcomputer Information Settings Dialog box is checked off, you cannot specify any mask available area using the Create Mask File wizard at creating mask files. However, you can do so using the Main window. The procedures are as follows:
    (1) Enter your microcomputer information in MM with the "Using the data for setting the mask available area" check box being checked on in the Microcomputer Information Settings Dialog box.
    (2) Specify your MCU part number, ROM number, and hexadecimal data file by using the Create Mask File wizard to create a temporary mask file. All the items of information specified by the wizard are displayed in the Main window. However, the file code displayed at this time is invalid; then, neglect it.
    (3) Enter data for setting a mask available area in the Main window to create your mask file. The file code displayed is the valid one, so enter it into your mask ROM confirmation form.

2.4 Schedule of Fixing the Problem
We plan to fix this problem in our next release.
