Precautions

Please take note of the following problems in using simulator debuggers, emulator debuggers, and emulator debuggers dedicated to compact emulators:
  • On downloading target programs
  • On opening the source window
  • On setting search paths for source files

  1. Problem on Downloading Target Programs
    1.1 Products and Versions Concerned
    (1) Simulator debuggers
    For the M32R family MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD32RSIM
    For the M32C/80 and M16C/80 series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD308SIM
    For the M16C/60 and M16C/20 series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD30SIM
    For the 7900 series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD79SIM
    For the 77xx series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD77SIM
    For the 740 family MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD38SIM

    (2) Emulator debuggers
    For the M32R family MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD32R
    For the M16C/80 series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD308
    For the M16C/60 and M16C/20 series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD30
    For the 7900 series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD79
    For the 77xx series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD77
    For the 740 family MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD38

    (3)Emulator debuggers dedicated to compact emulators
    For the M30800T-CPE: All the versions of PD308M
    For the M30620T-CPE: All the versions of PD30M

    1.2 Description
    If a Windows application is launched or any of the other already-opened Windows applications is made active while you are downloading a target program (a load module), the debugger may freeze suddenly.

    1.3 Conditions
    This problem occurs if the following two conditions are satisfied:
    (1) The Memory or Trace window is open.
    (2) Another Windows application is launched or made active while any of the following dialog boxes is open during downloading a load module:
    "Binary data Download"
    "MOT File Download"
    "HEX File Download"

    1.4 Workaround
    This problem will be circumvented in either of the following ways:
    • Close the Memory and the Trace window.
    • Don't manipulate other Windows applications during downloading a load module.

    1.5 Schedule of Fixing the Problem
    We plan to fix this problem in our next release.

  2. Problem on Opening the Source Window
    2.1 Products and Versions Concerned
    (1)Simulator debuggers
    For the M32R family MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD32RSIM
    For the M32C/80 and M16C/80 series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD308SIM
    For the M16C/60 and M16C/20 series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD30SIM
    For the 7900 series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD79SIM
    For the 77xx series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD77SIM
    For the 740 family MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD38SIM

    (2)Emulator debuggers
    For the M32R family MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD32R
    For the M16C/80 series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD308
    For the M16C/60 and M16C/20 series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD30

    (3)Emulator debuggers dedicated to compact emulators
    For the M30800T-CPE: All the versions of PD308M

    2.2 Description
    The Source window may not be opened or not display materials normally if opened.

    2.3 Conditions
    This problem occurs if the file that was displayed in the Source window the last time is not found.

    2.4 Workaround
    Delete the INI file in the debugger. Its filename and the directory where it is saved are as follows:
    Filename: The product type excluding "M3T-" plus extension ".INI"
    (for example, PD32RSIM.INI for product type M3T-PD32RSIM)
    Directory: * The directory where the debugger's executable files are saved, or
    * Windows directory

    2.5 Schedule of Fixing the Problem
    We plan to fix this problem in our next release.

  3. Problem on Setting Search Paths for Source Files
    3.1 Products and Versions Concerned

    For the M16C/60 and M16C/20 series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD30SIM
    For the 7900 series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD79SIM

    (2)Emulator debuggers
    For the M16C/80 series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD308
    For the M16C/60 and M16C/20 series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD30
    For the 7900 series MCUs: All the versions of M3T-PD79

    (3)Emulator debuggers dedicated to compact emulators
    For the M30800T-CPE: All the versions of PD308M
    For the M30620T-CPE: All the versions of PD30M

    3.2 Description
    Even when a search path is set using the Customize dialog box or the Path script command, the source file located by the search path may not be displayed in the Program windows and others.

    3.3 Conditions
    This problem occurs if the following two conditions are satisfied:
    (1) Two or more source files exist with the same name given.
    (2) A search path is set.

    3.4 Workaround
    Download the target program once again, and the source file located by the search path will be displayed.

    3.5 Schedule of Fixing the Problem
    We plan to fix this problem in our next release.
