Free-of-Charge Upgrade of MCU
on Emulation Pod M30830T-RPD-E

We replace your MCU on emulation pod M30830T-RPD-E (specific product) with the upgraded one free of charge. M30830T-RPD-E is used for emulator PC4701 for the M32C/81, M32C/82, and M32C/83 group MCUs.

Serial numbers have been inscribed on the bottom of each pod.
Note that the products whose serial number ends with "A" already have the upgraded MCUs on them, so they need not be upgraded.
- Description of Upgrade
- We replace your MCU mounted on the pod with the upgraded one.
This upgrade will eliminate the following limitations imposed on the MCU:

Using the mov instruction to rewrite the function select register C (address 03AFh). This register cannot be read out. |
| (2) |
Setting SFR for CAN after disabling interrupts when CAN functions used. Or setting the levels of the interrupts that may be generated to any of 7, 3, and 1 if you are not allowed to disable interrupts. |

Using timer B in Timer or Event Counter mode when used. If the timer is used in Pulse Width or Pulse Period Measurement mode, no interrupts might be generated depending on the input timing of pulses from the Tbjin pin. |
| (4) |
When the intelligent I/O is used for reception in serial I/O mode synchronized with the internal clock, stopping the clock under software control as soon as the reception has been completed. |

When the intelligent I/O synchronized with the internal clock is used for reception, permitting reception 1 clock after the base timer has been started. |
- How to Upgrade

First, fill in the "Free-of-Charge M30830T-RPD-E (Specific Product) Upgrade Application Form" and send it by e-mail to your local Renesas Technology sales office or distributor. |
| (2) |
Then, send your M30830T-RPD-E product to them, with the filled-in application form enclosed in it. |
| (3) |
We will ship back your product upon upgrading and checking it.
It will take 10 working days or more for upgrading (except for the transportation period). |
- Effective Date of Application
From July 1, 2002, to June 30, 2003, inclusive
(If circumstances prevent you from sending your product within the above date, please contact your local Renesas Technology sales office or distributor.)
