A Note on Emulator Debugger
M3T-PD32R

Please take note of the following problem in using emulator debugger M3T-PD32R for the M32R family of MCUs:
  • On debugging functions in the external and extended external areas

  1. Versions Concerned
    M3T-PD32R V.1.00 Release 1 -- V.3.00 Release 1

  2. Description
The following debugging functions may not properly be performed in the external and extended external areas:
    (1) Storing target program to memory after downloading
    (2) Rewriting memory

  3. Conditions
This problem occurs if the following three conditions are satisfied:
    (1) The target MCU belongs to any of the following MCU groups:
    • the 32120 and 32121 groups
    • the 32170, 32171, 32172, 32173, and 32174 groups
    • the 32180 and 32182 groups
    (2) The chip operation mode of the target MCU is either of the following:
    • processor mode
    • MPU mode
    (3) The external or extended external area concerned overlaps with the internal ROM area, as denoted by A in the memory map below.

    Internal ROM Area

    A

    In single-chip,
    extended external,
    and MCU modes
    In processor
    and MPU modes

  4. Schedule of Fixing the Problem
We plan to fix this problem in our next release.
