A Note on Emulator Debugger M3T-PD32R V.3.00 Release 1

Please take note of the following problem in using emulator debugger M3T-PD32R V.3.00 Release 1 for the M32R family MCUs:
- On downloading a target program or data file to flash ROM
- Versions Concerned
M3T-PD32R V.3.00 Release 1
- Description
When target programs or data files are downloaded to flash ROM, the sectors where no data has been written may be erased.
- Conditions
- This problem occurs if the following two conditions are satisfied:
- (1) A flash ROM device is used where three or more sectors reside within a 64-Kbyte alignment.
- (2) A sector containing no data items is sandwiched between two sectors where data items have been written.
- 3.1 Example
- In the case of the flash ROM device shown below, the contents of Sector 2 are erased.
- Workaround
This problem can be circumvented by using the problem-fixed firmware.
So, please replace the firmware in your product with the above mentioned one as follows:
| (1) | Download the m32rsdi0.lzh file (193KB). |
| (2) | Decompress the downloaded file to obtain the m32rsdi0.s file. |
| (3) | Copy the m32rsdi0.s file to the folder where PD32R.exe resides. |

Launch the M3T-PD32R, and you see the message "We should download new firmware". Then press the OK button. This message is displayed at the first launch only. |
| (5) | Confirm the version of the new firmware.
(i) Restart the M3T-PD32R.
(ii) Open the Help menu and select About; then the version of the problem-fixed firmware shown below will be displayed.
