Notes on Using Emulator MCU M38049RLSS for the 3803/3804 Group MCUs

Please take note of the problems described below in using the M38049RLSS emulator MCU for the 3803/3804 group MCUs in the 38000 series of the 740 family in combination with the debugging tools for the above group.
- Products Concerned
- The emulator MCU for the 3803/3804 group: M38049RLSS
- Debugging tools for the 3803/3804 group:
| Emulator | : PC4701U, PC4701M, PC4701HS, PC4701L, PC4700H or PC4700L |
| Emulation pod | : M38000T-FPD, M38000TL-FPD, or M38000TL2-FPD |
| Emulator debugger | : M3T-PD38 |
- Problems
When the M38049RLSS is used together with the above debugging tools, the following two problems may occur:
| (1) | The target program may not pause at step execution, program halting, software breaks, and hardware breaks. |
| (2) | In the RAM monitor window, data and access history within the area where no read or write access is made may be subject to changes. |
- 2.1 Conditions
- The above problems occur if the emulator MCU is operating under the following conditions:
| Operating Voltage Vcc | : | within a range of 4.5--5.5 V |
| Operating frequency f(XIN) | : | within a range of 15.2--16.8 MHz |
- Schedule of Fixing the Problems
We plan to distribute the problem-fixed board that can be connected to the M38049RLSS free of charge in beginning of April.
Upon fixing the schedule, we will furnish you with details on the distribution.
