A Note on Using Emulator Debugger
M3T-PD32RM V.1.00 Release 1

Please take note of the following problem in using the M3T-PD32RM emulator debugger for the M32R family MCUs:
  • On downloading target programs


  1. Version Concerned
    M3T-PD32RM V.1.00 Release 1

  2. Description
    Target programs (load modules) may not be downloaded.

    2.1 Conditions
    This problem occurs if the following two conditions are satisfied:
    (1) A target program is downloaded into the RAM area.
    (2) The beginning address and length of each data block are such as shown below.

                 <---->            --> 1 byte that begins at the address of 
                                           a word boundary plus 1
                 <--------->       --> 2 bytes that begin at the address of 
                                           a word boundary plus 1
                      <---->       --> 1 byte that begins at the address of 
                                           a word boundary plus 2

  3. Workaround
    This problem can be circumvented by using the problem-fixed firmware.
    So, please replace the firmware in your product with the above mentioned one as follows:
    (1) Download the M32RCPE0.S file (Ver.0.00.23). (File name: m32rcpe0.zip, Size: 39.5KB)
    (2)Decompress the downloaded file to obtain the m32rcpe0.s file.
    (3)With the decompressed m32rcpe0.s file, overwrite the old m32rcpe0.s file in the folder where the pd32rm.exe file resides.
    (4)Launch the M3T-PD32RM, and you see the message "We should download new firmware". Then press the OK button. This message is displayed at the first launch only.
    (5)Confirm the version of the new firmware.
    (i) Restart the M3T-PD32RM.
    (ii) Open the Help menu and select About; then the version of the problem-fixed firmware shown below will be displayed.
    Firmware "M32RCPE0.S" Ver.0.00.23 M32RMxx.HWC


  4. Schedule of Fixing the Problem
    We plan to fix this problem in our next release of the product.
