A Note on Using Compact Emulator M38000T2-CPE
|
Several problems are found in the firmware loaded in the M38000T2-CPE
compact emulator for the 740 family MCUs. We supply the problem-fixed
firmware and explain how to download it at the end of this news.
- Firmware Versions Concerned
All the versions of the M38000A1.C0 earlier than Ver.1.01.00 loaded in the M38000T2-CPE
The version of the firmware can be checked as follows:

Launch the M3T-PD38M. |

Open the Help menu and select the About command. |
| (3) |
In the Version dialog box that appears, check the version of the M38000A1.C0 firmware file. |
- Problems Found
The following problems occur when you use the emulator coming with
the firmware concerned:

When the area containing addresses 4000-4FFF is referenced or
modified in the various windows or by script commands;, or the
program written in this area is executed, the following symptoms
may appear:
- An error arises which says "ERROR 16224: Target MCU is not under control. Please reset target systems."
- Data in addresses 4000--4FFF are incorrectly displayed.
- Data in addresses 4000--4FFF are incorrectly set.

When the user program reads out break vector addresses, the
emulator system may malfunction.

When the RESET button is clicked or the reset command is executed
in the M3T-PD38M, or the target MCU is reset by the target system,
data in the emulation memory area may be corrupted.

- Workaround
Please replace the M38000A1.C0 firmware file in your product with the problem-fixed one (Ver.1.01.00) as follows:

Download the compressed firmware file "firm.exe"(154KB)

Decompress the firm.exe file to obtain the M38000A1.C0 Ver.1.01.00 and Readme_e.txt files.

Follow the steps shown in Readme_e.txt to update the firmware file.
