for the M30245 in the M16C/24 Group MCUs

We inform you that all the M30245T-RPD and M30245T3-RPD-E emulation pods we have shipped as TS,
ES, and specific products will be upgraded to the ones with the same functionality as the mass-produced pods.
These pods are used for the M30245 in the M16C/24 group MCUs in combination with the PC4701 emulator.

- Descriptions of Upgrade

MCU mounted
The current MCU is replaced with the upgraded one in which the problem described in
RENESAS TECHNICAL NEWS "M30245MC/8-XXXGP Cautions on Serial I/O (M16C-112-0309)"
(24KB in PDF) has been fixed.
All the products listed above except 2DM008C, 2DM009C, and 2HM011D in TS (WS) are involved in this problem.

Maximum operating frequency
The maximum operating frequency in the TS (WS) product has been limited to 14 MHz or less at 3.3 volts.
The upgrade raises the limitation to 16.0 MHz at 3.0--3.6 volts. |
NOTICES:

The version of the M3T-PD30 emulator debugger used in combination with the upgraded pods must be V.8.10 Release 1 or later. |

- Shipment of the Upgraded Product
We will ship back your product upon upgrading and checking it. It will take 10 working days or more to upgrade your product
(except for the transportation period).
- Effective Date of Application
From March 16, 2004, to March 15, 2005, inclusive
If circumstances prevent you from sending your application form and product within the above date,
please contact your local Renesas Technology sales office or distributor.
- Notices
| (1) | If your pod does not work properly, an additional charge will be made for repairing it. |
| (2) | We will not be able to supply you with another pod for the period of time of upgrade. |
