Notes on Using Compact Emulator M38000T2-CPE
|
Here we notify you that two problems depending on versions of firmware files are found in the M38000T2-CPE compact emulator for the 740 family MCUs and explain how to sidestep these problems.
- Versions of Firmware Files Concerned
All the versions of the M38000A1.C0 earlier than Ver.1.02.00 loaded in the M38000T2-CPE
The version of the firmware file of yours can be seen as follows:
| (1) | Launch the M3T-PD38M. |
| (2) | Open the Help menu and select the About command. |
| (3) | The Version dialog box appears, in which the version of the M38000A1.C0 firmware file is displayed. |
- Problems
The following problems may occur if any of the versions concerned used:
| (1) | As soon as the emulator is powered on, a self-check error arises, which disables the emulator from starting. |
| (2) | If the D flag is set to 1 (the decimal operation mode enabled), the execution of a program with breakpoints cannot be halted at these breakpoints, and also single-step execution cannot properly be performed. |
- Workaround
Please replace the M38000A1.C0 firmware file in your product with the problem-fixed one (Ver.1.02.00) as follows:
| (1) | Download the compressed firmware file "firm.exe"(154KB). |
| (2) | Decompress the firm.exe file to obtain the M38000A1.C0 Ver.1.02.00 and Readme_e.txt files. |
| (3) | Follow the steps shown in Readme_e.txt to update the firmware file. |
