An MCU File Supplied for the M306NKT-EPB Emulation Probe
|
We inform you of the supply of an MCU file--M16C6NK.mcu--for the M306NKT-EPB emulation probe.
- Description
The M306NKT-EPB emulation probe is used for debugging the M16C/6N4,
M16C/6N5, M16C/6NK, M16C/6NL, M16C/6NM, and M16C/6NN MCUs in the
M16C/6N group. When using the M306NKT-EPB in combination with the
M3T-PD30F V.2.20 Release 1 emulator debugger for the PC7501 emulator,
you need the M16C6NK.mcu file. So we start supplying the M16C6NK.mcu
file in accordance with the release of the M306NKT-EPB emulation probe.
- How to Download and Install the File
| (1) |
Download the M16C6NK.zip file (1.01 KB) |
| (2) |
Uncompress the M16C6NK.zip file and copy the uncompressed
M16C6NK.mcu file to the mcufiles sub-folder under the folder
where the M3T-PD30F resides. (If you have installed the M3T-PD30F by
default, the sub-folder is c:\mtool\pd30f\mcufiles.) |
| (3) |
Invoke the M3T-PD30F. Then select the MCU tab in the Init dialog box
and click the Refer button. The Select Files dialog box appears. |
| (4) |
In this dialog box, select M16C6NK.mcu as a file. |
| (5) |
If the MCU file has been successfully saved, "M16C6NK.mcu" will be
displayed in the MCU area in the MCU tab. |
- Notice
If you want to debug the M16C/6N4 and M16C/6N5 MCUs using the
M306NKT-EPB, be sure to use the M16C6NK.mcu file instead of the
M16C6N4.mcu included with the M3T-PD30F.

- Addition (Firmware Download)
We have updated the firmware file for M306NKT-EPB.
When using the M306NKT-EPB in combination with the
M3T-PD30F V.2.20 Release 1 emulator debugger, download the latest firmware file "m30620f.s" from HERE (ZIP 1.39 MB).
Copying Firmware and MCU Files:
| (1) |
Download the latest firmware file "m30620f.s" above. |
| (2) |
Store the firmware file "m30620f.s" to the directory where the pd30f.exe is
installed (If you have installed the M3T-PD30F by default, store the firmware file to "c:\mtool\pd30f"). |
Normally, the following are automatically detected when the M3T-PD30F is started up, and the firmware is downloaded.
- When you use this product for the first time
- When the firmware has been upgraded
- When you use this product with a PC7501 which was used with another emulation probe before
If downloading firmware is not completed in the cases below, redownload the firmware
after starting the emulator in maintenance mode following the procedures (1) to (4).
- When the power is unexpectedly shut down during a download from the emulator debugger
- When a communications interface cable is unexpectedly pulled out
The user system must not be connected when you download the firmware.
| (1) |
Set the interface select switch on the rear panel of the PC7501 to the LPT side and connect the LPT parallel interface cable to the PC7501 and the host machine. |
| (2) |
Within 2 seconds of activating power to the emulator, press the system reset switch on the PC7501 front panel to start maintenance mode. |
| (3) |
When the emulator is switched to maintenance mode, the System Status SAFE LED begins to flash. |
| (4) |
Start up the M3T-PD30F. When settings in the Init dialog box are complete, the dialog which urges to download the firmware will appear.
Download firmware following messages. Required time for downloading the firmware is about 60 seconds. |
