- Descriptions of Revision
- 2.1 Functions Improved
-
| (1) |
For the Set Monitor command (monitor_set, a command for setting
and displaying monitoring points)
| (a) | The function of displaying the syntax on the command line
has been improved. (This function instructs you how to set
parameters of each command on-screen.) |
| (b) | Changes have been made to the displays of the states of
monitoring points.
- Displaying the setting order of command parameters omitted.
- The options of the command parameter Initial_value have been
changed from TRUE/FALSE to enable/disable. (Initial_value determines
whether to display the contents of memory or not as a default at opening the Monitor window.)
|
|
| (2) |
The error message that appears if the connection with the
target is canceled by the user or cannot be established has
been changed from "Target Missing" to "Target Missing or
Connection Canceled." |
- 2.2 A Problem Encountered at Installing Products with Which a High-performance Embedded Workshop Is Included Resolved
-
The following problem arising at updating products with which a High-performance Embedded Workshop
is include has been resolved: Products cannot properly be updated
in some PCs with either of the following error messages being displayed:
- An error has arisen during the execution of the setup program.
- Insert Floppy Disk 1 containing the layout.bin file.
For details, visit HERE.
- 2.3 Other Problems Fixed
- The following problems have been fixed:
| (1) | If the last label in ASCII order is searched for using the search function (*) in the Label window, the error message "LABEL NOT FOUND" appears.
| * |
This function becomes available by following these steps: |
| |
a. |
Right-click an unoccupied area in the Label window |
| |
b. |
A pop-up menu appears. |
| |
c. |
Select the Search command in this menu. |
|
| (2) | If multiple-step execution is discontinued and then the program
is executed in the usual way, the STOP button on the toolbar for
manually stopping the program stays not illuminated, which may
disable the manual stopping of the program.
At the same time, such operations of the High-performance Embedded Workshop may not be managed
as closing the workspace by selecting the File Close Workspace
command or ending the application by selecting the File Exit
command.
For details, see RENESAS TOOL NEWS "A Note on Using Integrated
Development Environment High-performance Embedded Workshop--On Discontinuing Multiple-Step
Execution" issued on August 16, 2004. |
| (3) | The status of the Connect up to target on debug go check box (*)
cannot be kept when the session is saved.
| * |
To see this check box, open the Options menu and select the
Debug Settings command. The Debug Settings dialog box
appears, and then select the Options tab in it. |
|
| (4) | Using the Open Workspace command in the interface of the High-performance Embedded Workshop's
server function (*) may cause an application error to arise.
* For details of the High-performance Embedded Workshop's server function, see HewServer Document. |
| (5) | If load modules written in the ELF/DWARF2 format are downloaded
and the source file containing them is displayed in the Source
window, the addresses of the source lines in which no program
statements are written may incorrectly be provided.
For details, see RENESAS TOOL NEWS "A Note on Using Integrated
Development Environment High-performance Embedded Workshop--On Debugging Load Modules Written in
ELF/DWARF2 Format" issued on August 16, 2004. |
| (6) | The Set History function of the Monitor Setting dialog box (*) in
the Monitor window is unavailable.
| * |
To see this dialog box, open the View menu and select the CPU,
Monitor, Monitor Setting command. Or, right-click an unoccupied
area in the Monitor window. A pop-up menu appears, and then
select the Monitor Setting command in it. |
|
| (7) | When two or more Monitor windows (those displaying the contents of
memory in real time) are opened, debug sessions are saved, and then
the saved sessions are reloaded, the Monitor windows opened at the
second and later display the incorrect contents of memory.
For details, see RENESAS TOOL NEWS "A Note on Using Integrated
Development Environment High-performance Embedded Workshop--On Saving Debug Sessions in Monitor
Windows" issued on September 1, 2004. |
| (8) | When files written in assembler language are opened in the High-performance Embedded Workshop's
Editor window, syntax coloring may not function properly.
For details, see RENESAS TOOL NEWS "A Note on Using Integrated
Development Environment High-performance Embedded Workshop--On Syntax Coloring of Specified
Character Strings" issued on July 16, 2004. |
| (9) | The name of the M3T-PD30SIM simulator debugger does not appear
in the External Debugger list box in the NewProject-5/6-Setting
the Target System for Debugging dialog box.
For details, see RENESAS TOOL NEWS "A Note on Using Integrated
Development Environment High-performance Embedded Workshop--On Selecting an External Debugger at
Creating Projects" issued on July 16, 2004. |
| (10) | Context-sensitive helps (*) may be unavailable when the
following tabs are selected in their respective dialog boxes:
- The Build and Editor tabs in the Options dialog box
- The Toolbars, Placeholders, Debugger, Log, and Help tabs in the Customize dialog box
- The Options tab in the Debug Settings dialog box
| * |
Click the "?" mark at the top right of each dialog box,
and then click any item in it (for example, the Edit box).
You see a help relevant to the item pops up. |
|
