A Note on Using
C/C++ Compiler Package V.9.00 Release 00
for the SuperH RISC engine Family Devices

Please take note of the following problem in using the C/C++ compiler package
V.9.00 Release 00 for the SuperH RISC engine family devices:
- On executing the RESBANK instruction in the SH2A-FPU Cycle Base Simulator
(used for pipeline simulation)
- Product Concerned
C/C++ Compiler Package V.9.00 Release 00 for the SuperH RISC engine Family
- Description
When the RESBANK instruction is executed in the SH2A-FPU Cycle Base
Simulator included with the C compiler, the number of cycles for
executing the instruction becomes different from the specified ones.
Or, the High-performance Embedded Workshop may terminates abnormally depending on the condition of
memory at executing the RESBANK instruction.
- Workaround
Execute the RESBANK instruction in the SH2A-FPU Functional Simulator
(used for instruction-by-instruction simulation), not in the SH2A-FPU
Cycle Base Simulator.
- Schedule of Fixing the Problem
We plan to fix this problem in our next release of the product.
