M30870T-EPB, the Emulation Probe
for the M32C/87 Group of MCUs Released
|
We have released the M30870T-EPB emulation probe. It is used for the M32C/87
group of MCUs in combination with the PC7501 emulator.
- Outline
The M30870T-EPB is an emulation probe used in combination with the PC7501
emulator (specific to the M16C family) and supports the M32C/87 group of MCUs.
It operates under the following conditions:
- operating clock frequencies: 32 MHz maximum
supply voltages to target: 4.2--5.5 V, or
- operating clock frequencies: 24 MHz maximum
supply voltages to target: 3.0--5.5 V
- Contents of the Product Package

| (7) | A user's manual |
For further information on the specifications of the product, please see its datasheet.
- Problems in Using M30870T-EPB
Please take note of the following problems in using the product:
| (1) |
If CPU rewrite program is placed in the expanded emulation
memory, the program may run away. So place this program in the
on-chip RAM area or the external resource on the target system.
However, this problem arises only in the emulator; not in any
actual MCU. |
| (2) |
If the product is used in combination with the M3T-PD308F V.3.20
Release 1 or earlier (the emulator debugger for the PC7501 emulator),
update your firmware and MCU files as described in the next section.
Otherwise, if programs are downloaded to the emulator with the main
clock XIN being set to 16 MHz or less, the error message saying
ERROR 16258: Flash ROM deletion error occurred. may appear. |
- How to Update Your Firmware and MCU Files
Please update your firmware and MCU files as follows:
| (1) |
Download the m30850f.s firmware file and the m30870_a.mcu and m30870_ad_a.mcu MCU files from
"Download Site An MCU file and a firmware file required when you use emulation probe M30870T-EPB for the M32C/87 Group MCUs." |
| (2) |
Copy the downloaded m30850f.s firmware file to the folder (*1) where the M3T-PD308F resides. |
| (3) |
Also copy the downloaded m30870_a.mcu and m30870_ad_a.mcu MCU files
to the mcufiles folder under the same folder in (2). |
| (4) |
Launch the M3T-PD308F and you see the Init dialog box opens.
Then select the MCU tab and click the Refer button to open the File selection dialog. |
| (5) |
In the MCU Files list box, select the m30870_a.mcu or m30870_ad_a.mcu file (*2); then click Open. |
| (6) |
Again select the MCU tab in the Init dialog box and if you see
"m30870_a.mcu" or "m30870_ad_a.mcu" is displayed in the MCU box
according to your selection, the file has been successfully installed. |
NOTES:
| *1. |
If the M3T-PD308F has been installed as the default, the path of this folder is c:\mtool\pd308f. |
| *2. |
The m30870_a.mcu and the m30870_ad_a.mcu file are different in
limitations imposed on the function of selecting an analog input
pin. For details, see the M30870T-EPB user's manual or the document
included with the product. |
