Free-of-Charge Upgrade of MCU Boards
--M34519T-MCU and M34524T-MCU--
for MCUs in the 4500 Series
|
We notify that MCU boards for the PC4504 emulator, the M34519T-MCU and
M34524T-MCU, will be upgraded free of charge. They are used for MCUs in the
4500 series.
- Products Concerned

The M34519T-MCU boards (for the 4518, 4519, 4583, and 4584 groups of
MCUs) that bear the following lot nos.:
2JS001--2JS030, 3BS031--3BS040, 3ES041--3ES050, 4AS0051--4AS0055,
and 4FS0056--4FS0060 |

The M34524T-MCU boards (for the 4524 and 4554 groups of MCUs) that
bear the following lot nos.:
1KS001--1KS020, 2DS001, 2IS002--2IS011, and 4KS0012 |
NOTES:

Lot nos. are inscribed on the right bottom the products. |

The products whose lot nos. end with "A" have already been upgraded. |
- Descriptions of Upgrade
- 2.1 In the M34519T-MCU Board
- The following known problem has been resolved.
On the initial conditions of ports: from reset on through leaving
reset to program re-start (address 0 on 0 page), the output levels
of port pins P00--P03 and P10--P13; and port D0--D5 go LOW.

- 2.2 In the M34524T-MCU Board

The same problem stated in 2.1 above has been resolved. |

The actual MCU has been modified to resolve the problem
described in MAEC Technical News "4524 Group Notes For CNTR1
Output Auto-Control Circuit" issued in June, 2002
(No.4500-04-0206).
For details, see MAEC TECHNICAL NEWS "4524 Group Notes For CNTR1 Output Auto-Control Circuit" issued on February 6, 2004.
So the MCU mounted on your product will be replaced with
the modified one in this free-of-charge upgrade. |
- How to Upgrade Your Product
Apply for the upgrade as follows:
SEND TO: Your local Renesas Technology sales office or distributor

We will not be able to supply you with another board for the period of time of upgrade. |
| (2) |
If your product does not work properly, an additional charge will be made for repairing it. |
- Effective Date of Application
From December 16, 2004, to March 1, 2005, inclusive
