The High-performance Embedded Workshop, an Integrated
Development Environment, Provided with the AutoUpdate Utility

We have provided the High-performance Embedded Workshop, an integrated
development environment, with the AutoUpdate utility.
- Versions Concerned
The High-performance Embedded Workshop V.4 and later
The High-performance Embedded Workshop supports the software products bundled with its V.4 or later in using the AutoUpdate utility.
The compiler packages supported are listed below.
Note, however, that those bundled with its V.3 or earlier are not supported.

For other software products, we plan to make them supported at their revision one after another.
- AutoUpdate Utility
- 2.1 Outline
- The AutoUpdate utility is the one for helping you to browse update information on Renesas's tool software products.
When you install any product that includes the High-performance Embedded Workshop V.4 or later, your product is automatically registered as one to be addressed Then, the utility establishes the connection between your PC and our tool download site via the Internet at regular time intervals and browses through the site to check for update information on your product.
If the update program concerned is found on our download site, the utility signals it in a balloon help, and you are able to download the program to install if needed.
- 2.2 Brief Explanation

Install a product in which the AutoUpdate utility is available (for example, a C compiler or debugger package). |

The product is automatically registered as a product to be addressed. |
| (3) |
The utility browses through our download site to check for update information at a specified intervals of time. |
| (4) |
If the update program concerning your product is found, the utility signals it. |

NOTICE:
Though the AutoUpdate utility downloads update programs from our download site to you via the Internet, it never upload any information about you.
- 2.3 Automatic Startup of AutoUpdate Utility
- The shortcut icon of AutoUpdate is added to the Startup menu and displayed on the taskbar.
If you don't want automatic startup, move the shortcut icon from the Startup menu to a different folder.
NOTE*
When not operated, the AutoUpdate utility can be invoked by clicking its icon on the Program menu.
