A Note on Using
the E8 Emulator Software V.2.01 Release 00 |
Please take note of the following problem in using the emulator software for the E8 on-chip debugging emulator:
- On running the emulator software on Windows 98 or Me
- Product Concerned
E8 emulator software V.2.01 Release 00
- Description
If you run the M16C/Tiny, M16C/62P E8 emulator debugger V.1.00.00 included in the product concerned on Windows 98 or Me, the High-performance Embedded Workshop may abnormally be shut down or an emulator connection error may arise.
- Conditions
This problem occurs if the following conditions are all satisfied:

Windows 98SE or Windows Me is used as the host OS. |

Any of the following MCUs is selected out of the Device list in the Select Emulator mode dialog box at connecting the High-performance Embedded Workshop to emulator:
M30624FGP, M30625FGP, M30626FHP, M30626FJP, and M30627FHP |
- Workaround
When you debug MCUs involved, use Windows 2000 or XP as the host OS.
- Schedule of Fixing the Problem
We plan to fix this problem in the E8 emulator software V.2.02 Release 00, which will be released in this May 11.
