New MCU Groups Supported
by Compact Emulator M38000T2-CPE |
We have added new MCU groups to the line supported by the M38000T2-CPE compact emulator.
- Description
Two MCU groups shown in the table below have been added to the line
supported by the M38000T2-CPE, which emulates the 740 family of MCUs.
The table also lists their emulator MCUs and MCU files.
| MCU Group |
Emulator MCU *1 |
MCU File |
|
3858
|
M38588RSS |
M38000.MCU *2 |
|
7545
|
M37545RLSS |
M37545.MCU *3 |
NOTES:
*1. The emulator MCUs are optional.
*2. This MCU file has already been loaded in the M38000T2-CPE.
*3. Download and decompress this MCU file. (File name: M37545.zip, size: 145 bytes)
To debug any MCU in the above MCU groups, you need not update your
firmware file existing in the M38000T2-CPE but use either of the
emulator MCUs listed above, according to the MCU to debug.
For the guaranteed operational conditions of the M38000T2-CPE running
with the emulator MCU you want to use, see its datasheet.
- A Note on Debugging Members of the 7545 Group
When debugging any member of the 7545 Group using the emulator,
disable the watchdog timer function in the target system.
If you want to debug the watchdog timer function, enable the function
under the condition that the target system runs free.
How to disable and enable the watchdog timer function are explained
below.
- 2.1 How to Disable the Watchdog Timer Function
- In these settings, only the watchdog timer function is disabled;
the other debug functions remain enabled.
| (1) |
Set the ROM option data (FFDAh) in the user program as follows:
Bit: 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0
Set to: 0 0 0 0 1 0 * 1
* Set Bit 1 according to your specification.
NOTICE: These settings are used only for debugging. |
- 2.2 How to Enable the Watchdog Timer Function
- These settings are valid only for debugging while the target program
is running free.
| (1) |
Set the ROM option data (FFDAh) in the user program as follows:
Bit: 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0
Set to: 0 0 0 0 0 0 * 0
* Set Bit 1 according to your specification.

| (2) |
Launch the M3T-PD38M emulator debugger, and select the Reset Disable option button after clicking the Download tab of the Init
dialog box. |
| (3) |
Load the user program onto the emulator. |
| (4) |
Download and decompress the M37545.SCR script file. (File name: M37545_SCR.zip, size: 129 bytes) |
| (5) |
Execute the M37545.SCR file in the Script window.
Contents of the script file
Reset: Resets the target system
GF: Runs the target system free |
