E10A-USB Emulator Software
Revised to V.2.00 Release 01 |
We have revised the emulator software of the E10A-USB emulators (HS0005KCU01H and HS0005KCU02H) for the SuperH RISC engine, H8S and H8SX families to V.2.00 Release 01.
NOTICE:
We revised the E10A-USB emulator software to V.2.00 Release 00 and
once released the revised product on May 16.
However, because a problem was detected in running it on the host PC
where an OS for English has been installed,
we have discontinued the online revision to V.2.00 Release 00.
This problem has been resolved in the E10A-USB Emulator Software
V.2.00 Release 01, released this time. So please revise yours to this
product online; not V.2.00 Release 00.

So the E10A-USB Emulator Software is supported by the AutoUpdate utility of the High-performance Embedded Workshop V.4. For the AutoUpdate utility, see RENESAS TOOL NEWS "The High-performance Embedded Workshop, an Integrated Development Environment, Provided with the AutoUpdate Utility," issued on March 1, 2005.

Problems that arise in the E10A-USB Emulator Software V.1.08 Release 00 through V.1.11 Release 01 at using the performance measurement and profile functions of the SH-2A device group have been fixed. |
- The fixed problems are as follows:

When data cache-miss counts are measured using the performance analysis window, (*1) different results (instruction cache-miss counts) will be displayed in the window. |

When instruction cache-miss counts are measured using the performance analysis window, (*2) different results (data cache- miss counts) will be displayed in the window. |

When data cache-miss counts are measured using the Profile window, (*3) different results (instruction cache-miss counts) will be displayed in the window. |
| (4) |
When instruction cache-miss counts are measured using the Profile window, (*4) different results (data cache-miss counts) will be displayed in the window. |
Note, however, that when data cache-miss counts or instruction cache-miss counts are measured using the PERFORMANCE_SET or PROFILE_SELECT command typed in the Command Line window, a normal result will be obtained in the above-mentioned versions of the product.
Notes (On How to Measure Each Count):

Right-click any line in the performance analysis window and select the PERFORMANCE_SET command. The performance analysis dialog box opens.
From a Channel dropdown list in the dialog box, select the Data cache-miss counts. |

Open the performance analysis dialog box as explained above. Then select the Instruction cache-miss counts. |

Perform the operations in *1 in the Profile window. |
| *4. |
Perform the operations in *2 in the Profile window. |
- How to Revise Your Product
Please perform the following steps:
| (1) |
If you have not already installed the emulator software for the E10A-USB, execute the Setup.exe file contained in your CD-ROM of the emulator software to install it. |
| (2) |
Download the emulator software for the E10A-USB emulator V.2.00 Release 01, device by device, from HERE. |
| (3) |
Decompress the downloaded ZIP file to obtain the update program (an executable file); then execute it. |
| (4) |
For the E10A-USB, set up the emulator software (execute the Setup Tool for E10A-USB Emulator program). |

The update program mentioned in (3) above cannot switch the device group you are using to another. |

If the update program is executed, the High-performance Embedded Workshop V.4.00.00 or earlier will be updated to its V.4.00.01. |
