A Note on Using the Evaluation Versions
of Two C/C++ Compiler Packages |
Please take note of the problem described below in using the evaluation versions of two C/C++ compiler packages.
- Products Concerned
The following two C/C++ compiler packages are concerned which became
downloadable from our homepage on this March 23:
| (1) |
Evaluation C/C++ compiler package V.9.00 Release 02
for the SuperH RISC engine family |
| (2) |
Evaluation C/C++ compiler package V.6.01 Release 00
for the H8SX, H8S, and H8 families |
- Restrictions Placed on the Evaluation Compiler Packages
The following restrictions are placed on both of the evaluation compiler packages:
| (1) |
The built-in evaluation period lasts for 60 days from your first
use of each compiler. For this period, you are able to use the
evaluation version in the same manner as its commercial one. |
| (2) |
After 60 days, a limitation of link size is imposed as follows:
- 256KB maximum on the compiler for the SuperH RISC engine family
- 64KB maximum on the compiler for the H8SX, H8S, and H8 families |
- Problem
If you install the compiler package you want to use by selecting
Other region (Japan, Asia etc.) in the Region Selection dialog box
that opens at installation, link errors arise after 60 days from your
first use of the compiler, which prevent you from creating objects.
The error message that appears is as follows:
"L3440 (F) Software license not available"
- Solution
Go through the following steps:
| (1) |
Download the problem-fixed version of the evaluation compiler
you are using from Software Download Site. |
| (2) |
Remove the previous version from your PC using the Add or Remove
Programs icon in Control Panel of Windows and install the evaluation
version that you have downloaded. |
- Notice of Built-in Evaluation Period
Even if you install the problem-fixed version after removing the
previous one, the built-in evaluation period of days is counted
from your first use of the previous version.
