A Note on Using
the E8 Emulator Software V.2.03 Release 00 |
Please take note of the following problem in using the emulator software for the on-chip debugging emulator E8:
- On debugging MCUs of the R8C/14 and R8C/16 groups
- Description
When a program for any MCU of the R8C/Tiny series is debugged, the firmware for the E8 emulator cannot be written into the flash memory of the MCU.
So "Flash memory write error" arises, and debugging is discontinued.
- Conditions
This problem occurs if the following conditions are all satisfied:

The R8C/Tiny E8 emulator debugger V.2.01.00 included with the product is used. |

Any of the following MCUs is targeted for debugging:
- R5F21142, R5F21143, and R5F21144 (the R8C/14 group)
- R5F21162, R5F21163, and R5F21164 (the R8C/16 group)

- Solution
This problem has already been resolved in the E8 emulator software V.2.03 Release 01. So download this emulator software to update yours from "E8 Emulator Debugger Online Upgrade".
