The E200F Emulator Software
for the SH7206 MCU Group
Upgraded to V.2.00 Release 00 |
We have upgraded the emulator software for the E200F Emulator R0E0200F1EMU00 to V.2.00 Release 00. (The R0E0200F1EMU00 emulates the SH7206 group, SH7200 series, SuperH RISC engine family of MCUs.)
- Versions Concerned
The emulator software for the E200F Emulator R0E0200F1EMU00 V.1.00 Release 00 through V.1.02 Release 00
(This emulator is used for the SH7206 group, SH7200 series, SuperH RISC engine family of MCUs.)

Integrated Development Environment Included
The High-performance Embedded Workshop V.4 has been included with the software package, so the emulator software is supported by the AutoUpdate utility of the High-performance Embedded Workshop.
For this utility, see RENESAS TOOL NEWS "The High-performance Embedded Workshop, an Integrated Development Environment, Provided with the AutoUpdate Utility" (No. RSO-HEW_1-050301D), issued on March 1, 2005. |

Problem Fixed
The following problem has been fixed: If the event for a PC breakpoint takes place to halt the program, the value loaded in the R0 register may become incorrect.
For details, see RENESAS TOOL NEWS "A Note on Using the E200F and E10A-USB Emulators for the SH-2A Series of MCUs" (No. RSO-E200F_2- 050401D), issued on April 1, 2005, and "Notes on Using the E200F and E10A-USB Emulator Software Packages" (No. RSO-E200F_2-050616D), issued on June 16, 2005. |
- Note in Debugging the Target MCU
If you use PC breaks (software breaks), enable the use of the user stack by the SH2A_SBSTK command before setting PC break points.
Otherwise, the contents of the R0 register may become incorrect when PC breaks have been triggered.
When enabled, the user stack will consume 4 bytes more than when disabled if a PC break has occurred. So set the stack pointer (R15) to the correct value in advance.
By default, the user stack is disabled. So enable it as shown in the example below. For details of the SH2A_SBSTK command, see the Help file.
Example of enabling user stack:

>SH2A_SBSTK enable

- How to Update Your Product
Free-of-charge online update is available. The procedure is as follows:
| (1) |
|
Download the update program (a ZIP file) from HERE. |
| (2) |
|
Decompress the downloaded ZIP file to obtain the install program (a setup.exe file) and execute it. |
- Notice
If the install program is executed in the system where the High-performance Embedded Workshop V.4.00.01 or earlier resides, it will be updated to V.4.00.02.
