The Emulator Debuggers for the M32C/80, and M16C/80 Series Published |
The following four emulator debuggers, which are used for the M32C/80, and M16C/80 series of MCUs, have newly been published:
- M32C PC7501 emulator debugger V.1.00 Release 00
- M32C PC4701 emulator debugger V.1.00 Release 00
- M32C compact emulator debugger V.1.00 Release 00
- M32C FoUSB/UART debugger V.1.00 Release 00
- Outline
The four brand-new emulator debuggers can run on the High-performance Embedded Workshop (an integrated development environment) V.4.00.03.*
For detailed information on the new emulator debuggers, see their datasheets.

Substitutions
The new debuggers substitute for their preceding PD debuggers as follows:
- M32C PC7501 emulator debugger
for M3T-PD308F debugger (used for the M32C/80 series in combination with the PC7501 emulator)
- M32C PC4701 emulator debugger
for M3T-PD308 debugger (used for the M32C/80 and M16C/80 series in combination with the PC4701 emulator)
NOTICE:
The M32C PC4701 supports the PC4701U, PC4701M, PC4701HS, and PC4700H emulators only. Note that it does not support the PC4701L and PC4700L.
- M32C compact emulator debugger
for M3T-PD308MF debugger (used for the M32C/80 series in combination with their compact emulator)
- M32C FoUSB/UART debugger
for KD3083 debugger (used for the M32C/80 and M16C/80 series in combination with the M3A-0665 (FoUSB/UART) emulator)

Improvement Made in the New Debuggers
The new debuggers enable you to debug programs using the High- performance Embedded Workshop V.4.00.03.* Accordingly you are able to accomplish seamless operations of coding, building, simulating, and debugging under the single integrated development environment.
| * |
|
In the debuggers running on the High-performance Embedded Workshop V.4.00.03, such windows for basic debugging operations as the Register and Memory windows can be manipulated in a unified manner regardless of the types of target MCUs. On the other hand, the windows whose functions depend on each emulator (for example, those providing trace functions and hardware breaks) can be handled as in the PD debuggers. |

- Notices
| (1) |
|
There are several differences between the new debuggers and their predecessors in debugging application programs created with the aid of the PDSDK COM kit. For those differences, consult our technical support contact: csc@renesas.com |
| (2) |
|
None of the new debuggers can be used in combination with the ZIPC CASE tool, manufactured by CATS Co., Ltd. If you want to utilize ZIPC's debugging functions, use the PD debugger specific to your emulator. |

|
On these debuggers, the commands and windows created by the CB (Custom Builder) do not operate. |
