  2. Descriptions of Revision
The following three problems have been fixed:

2.1   On the Tooltip Watch Function
For details, see RENESAS TOOL NEWS "A Note on Using the High- performance Embedded Workshop--On the Tooltip Watch Function (No. RSO-HEW_2-050901D), issued on September 1, 2005.

    2.2   On the Editor Window
If any part of the source program is selected in the Editor window, the part may not be highlighted (its color may not be inverted).
This problem occurs if the following conditions are all satisfied:
    • A workspace is open.
    • Changes are made to any settings in the Format Views dialog box.
(To see this dialog box, open the Setup menu and select the Format Views command.)
    2.3   On Saving Files
You may fail in saving any file in the folder shared on the network, resulting in the message "Access to xxxxxx (file name) was denied" being displayed.

This problem occurs if the following conditions are all satisfied:
    • Windows(R) 2000 is running on the host PC, and a shared folder resides in the drive where the NTFS file system is used.
    • The Full Control access is not permitted to the shared folder.*
*. Whether access to a shared folder is permitted or not is checked as follows:

    (1)   Open Windows(R) Explorer.
    (2)   Select a shared folder and right-click it. In the pop-up menu that appears, select the Properties command.
    (3)   Click the Sharing tab in the Properties dialog box.
    (4)   Then, click the Permissions button to open the Permissions dialog box.
    (5)   Check to see whether the Allow check box of the shared folder is checked or unchecked in the Permissions list.

  3. How to Update Your Product
Free-of-charge online update is available. To update yours, download the update program from HERE ; then execute it.

  4. Notices
    (1)   If you have not already installed the High-performance Embedded Workshop V.2.2 or later, you cannot update your High-performance Embedded Workshop to V.4.00.03.
    (2)   No components except the High-performance Embedded Workshop (for example, C compilers, emulators, etc.) are affected by this update.
    (3)   In order to update the High-performance Embedded Workshop bundled with the C/C++ compiler package for the SuperH RISC engine family, the compiler package must be updated to V.7.1.03 or V.7.1.04 in advance; then update the High-performance Embedded Workshop to V.4.00.03.
So, the C/C++ compiler package for the H8, H8S, and H8SX families must be updated to V.5.0.05 or V.5.0.06 before updating the High-performance Embedded Workshop.
