A Note on Using
the High-performance Embedded Workshop (IDE)

Please take note of the following problem in using the High-performance Embedded Workshop (IDE):
  • On creating workspaces

  1. Product Concerned
Any product of the High-performance Embedded Workshop updated using its update program

  2. Description
If you open the New Project Workspace dialog box, check the check box for the debugger or simulator in the New Project-7/9-Setting the Target System for Debugging section, and click the Next button when creating a workspace, no debugger option can properly be selected with the following warning message displayed:
    Cannot find CPU map information

  3. Conditions
This problem occurs if the High-performance Embedded Workshop has been updated by performing the following procedures:

    (1)   Either of the following compiler packages is installed:
    • C/C++ compiler package V.7.1.03 or earlier for the SuperH RISC engine family (SHC) (Windows version)
    • C/C++ compiler package V.5.0.05 or earlier for the H8, H8S, and H8SX families (H8C) (Windows version)
    (2)   Any debugger is installed which was released in 2004 or later for the SuperH RISC engine family or the H8, H8S, and H8SX families.
    (3)   Then your High-performance Embedded Workshop is updated using its update program.

  4. Workaround
Copy the folders shown below to the System\Pg\Renesas folder.
These folders reside in the System\Pg\Hitachi folder under the directory where the High-performance Embedded Workshop has been installed:
    • In SHC
      System\Pg\Hitachi\Sh_x_x
      System\Pg\Hitachi\Hardware
    • In H8C
      System\Pg\Hitachi\h8_x_x
      System\Pg\Hitachi\Hardware

  5. Schedule of Fixing the Problem
We plan to fix this problem in the next release of the product.
