A Note on Using the Emulator Software Packages
for the E10A-USB, E10A, E200F,
and E10T Emulators

Please take note of the following problem in using the emulator software packages for the E10A-USB, E10A, E200F, and E10T emulators:
  • On building C source files registered with a project

  1. Products and Versions Concerned
All the versions for the High-performance Embedded Workshop of the following emulator software packages are concerned:

    (1) The emulator software for the E10A-USB emulators (HS0005KCU01H and HS0005KCU02H)
MCU Group Concerned: SuperH RISC engine family (The SH-Mobile series is excluded.)
    (2) The emulator software for the E10A emulators (HSxxxxKCM01H, HSxxxxKCM02H, HSxxxxKCI01H, and HSxxxxKCI02H)
MCU Group Concerned: SuperH RISC engine family and H8S family
    (3) The emulator software for the E200F emulator R0E0200F0EMU00
MCU Group Concerned: SH7780 and SH-Mobile series, SuperH RISC engine family
    (4) The emulator software for the E10T emulators (HS3048BTCM01H and HS3048BTCI01H)
    MCU Group Concerned: H8/300H family

  2. Description
When you create a project using any of the products concerned and the High-performance Embedded Workshop and build C source files registered with the project, the following error may arise in compilation:
    C3305 (F) Invalid command parameter
  3. Conditions
This problem occurs if the following conditions are all satisfied:
    (1)   When you create a project, the emulator concerned check box is checked in the New Project-7/9-Setting the Target System for Debugging dialog box, which appears in the Project Generator wizard* of the High-performance Embedded Workshop.
    (2)   The configuration name automatically generated in (1) is used as the name of the project created in (1).
    (3)   C source files registered with the project created in (1) is built.

    * A wizard for creating new workspaces.

  4. Workaround
In the New Project-8/9-Setting the Debugger Options dialog box, delete the parentheses enclosing the configuration name.
    Example:
     Modify the automatically-generated configuration name
              Debug_SH-3(Core)_E10A-USB_SYSTEM
     to
              Debug_SH-3Core_E10A-USB_SYSTEM

  5. Schedule of Fixing the Problem
    (1)   We will fix this problem in the High-performance Embedded Workshop V.4.01, which generates configuration names with no parentheses.
    (2)   We will bundle the High-performance Embedded Workshop V.4.01 with the products concerned.
    (3)   We will open the download site for you updating your High-performance Embedded Workshop at the same time.
