We have released the compact emulator for the R8C/Tiny series, M16C family of MCUs, R0E521000CPE00.

  1. Outline
The R0E521000CPE00 compact emulator is used for the R8C/Tiny series of MCUs and provided with real-time trace capabilities.
With the product package are included such software tools as an integrated development environment, a C compiler, an assembler, an emulator debugger, so you can start developing and debugging* your application programs immediately after getting and unpacking the product.

    *   To debug programs, the optional converter board for connecting the target system to the compact emulator is required in addition. For ordering the combinations of the compact emulator and optional converter boards, see Section 3.2.

    Its features are as follows:
    • Fundamental debugging capabilities much enhanced.
    • Real-time trace capabilities supported.
    • Compactly designed in size.
    • Programming and debugging tools included.
    • Economical-priced
    • USB (USB 1.1 full-speed) supported. (Also can be connected to host machines equipped with the USB 2.0 interface.)
    • Maximum operating clock frequency: 20 MHz
    • Supply voltages to the target system: 2.2--5.5 V

    For details, see its datasheets.

  4. Notes
    (1)   We are remodeling the WS and ES products of the compact emulator to an equivalent of the standard product. So we will inform the users who have purchased WS or ES that free-of-charge remodeling is ready to be available on the tool news in February 2006.
    (2)   When you use the WS or ES product of the compact emulator, be sure to use the emulator debugger, the firmware file and the MCU files included with WS or ES. If you use those included with the standard product, WS and ES products may not properly work.
