A Note on Using
the SDI Emulator M32100T5-SDI-E |
Please take note of the problem described below in using the SDI Emulator
M32100T5-SDI-E. This emulator is used for the M32R family of MCUs.
- Description of the Problem
When the M32100T5-SDI-E is used together with either of the following
emulator debuggers, the emulator debugger may not be invoked properly,
or the emulator may be damaged depending on the circumstances:
- M3T-PD32RM V.2.10 Release 1
- M3T-PD32RM V.3.00 Release 00
- Solution
Use the emulator together with the M3T-PD32RM V.3.00 Release 01
emulator debugger, where the above problem has been resolved.
How to get the problem-fixed M3T-PD32RM is as follows:
| (1) |
|
Download the installer of the M3T-PD32RM V.3.00 Release 01
from Download site. |
| (2) |
|
Install the M3T-PD32RM by following the instructions described
in its release note. The release note can be referred to from
the above download site. |
| (3) |
|
When the M3T-PD32RM is invoked first after its installation, you
see the message "You need to download new firmware to use this
debugger" appears. Then click the OK button. The latest firmware
will be loaded into your emulator. After the latest firmware is
loaded, the above message will not appear when the M3T-PD32RM is
invoked. |
| (4) |
|
Check to see that the firmware has been updated as follows:
| (i) | Invoke the M3T-PD32RM. |
| (ii) | Open the Help menu and select the About command. If you
see the message shown below, the update of the firmware
is complete:
Firmware "M32RCPE1.S" Ver.2.01.00 xxx.HWC
Here, xxx denotes any one of the following, depending on
your target MCU:
M32RMT5_3_8
M32RMT5_3_4
