Mitsubishi announces the upgraded version of emulator debugger PD30 (formerly called PDB30) for the M16C/60 Series of microcomputers.
Product summary
PD30 V.3.00 Release 1 is a software product controlling the PC4701HS, PC4701L, PC4700H and PC4700L emulators for the Mitsubishi M16C/60 Series of 16-bit microcomputers.
Note that the product name has been modified from PDB30 to PD30 following this upgrading.
Description of Upgrading
- Extended Functions
PD30 provides the following new functions:
- Interval Time Measurement Window
The functions that measure an execution time between two points, a time period between two specified events, and a time duration of an specified event established are added.
- State Transition Trace Window
Trace points can be set the same way as in the State Transition Break Window.
- Coverage window
The functions that have been supported with coverage commands can be easily performed with GUI in this window.
- MR Trace Window
This window enables the user to measure the history of task execution of real-time OS and displays the result graphically.
- MR Analyze Window
This window displays the statistically processed result of a measurement performed using MR Trace Window.
- IAR's C compiler ICCM16C
IAR's C compiler ICCM16C is supported.
- Customized functions (not available on Windows 3.1)
Functions that enable the user additionally to implement customized windows and commands are available. Also, the tools needed to create customized windows and commands are provided.
- Windows NT 4.0
Windows NT 4.0 is available for a host OS (on IBM PC/AT or compatible only).
- Limitations Removed
The following two limitations in PDB30 V.2.00 Release 2 have been removed by upgrading.
- "PDB30 terminates if an x30 file is created from two or more object file names".
- "An x30 file created using linker ln30 with command parameters over 255 characters cannot correctly be downloaded with a format error".
- Upgrade Service Information
Upgrade service is available to PDB30 users with additional charge. For the inquiries on upgrade service, contact your local Renesas Technology sales office or distributor.

IBM PC/AT or compatible
- On Supporting Windows 3.1
This release is the last to support Windows 3.1. The next version and the later will support only Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0.
