Remodeling of the Emulation Pods for M16C/60 and 61 into the one for M16C/62
|
Mitsubishi is going to accommodate your request to remodel the emulation pods for the M16C/60 and 61 groups of microcomputers into the one for the M16C/62 group with additional charge, from Apr. 1, 1998.
Please apply for the remodeling of your emulation pod if you approve the limitations imposed on using the remodeled pods. A detailed explanation of these limitations is given below.
Limitations Imposed on Using Remodeled Pods
The remodeling of emulation pods comes with the following limitations.
- When your emulation pod for the M16C/60 or 61 is remodeled into the one for the M16C/62 group, the pod becomes dedicated to debug the M16C/62 group; not available for debugging the M16C/60 or 61 group.
- Maximum operating frequencies are limited to the values shown in Table 1.
Table 1. Maximum Operating Frequencies (After Remodeling)
| Operating Voltage | Maximum Operating Frequency |
| 5.0 V | at 0 WAIT | 10.0 MHz |
| at 1 WAIT | 16.0 MHz |
| 3.0 V | at 1 WAIT | 7.0 MHz |
- Remodeled pods cannot be used for debugging in Memory Space Expansion Modes 1 and 2.
- Pull-up control registers
When Reset is removed with the CNVss pin tied to Vcc, the pull-up resistors connected to P45-P47 go to the OFF state.
- Port control register function of the port P1
Regardless of the setting of the port control register, the port P1 reads an input level as a input port, and reads contents of the port P1 register as an output port.
- Emulator debuggers used with remodeled pods
- PDB30 V.2.00 Release 2 or older
Usable as it is
- PD30 V.3.00 or later
Select "M30600.MCU" as "MCU" in the Init dialog box which appears after starting PD30.
(PD30 does not operate correctly if "M30620.MCU" is selected.)
- [Application effective]
- From Apr. 1, 1998 to Dec. 25, 1998 inclusive
After the above date application will not be acceptable.

- [Notes]
- 1. If your emulation pod does not operate normally, the extra charge for repairing it will be added.
- 2. In the above case, we will not be able to replace the defective pod with a new one.
- 3. Remodeling takes more than 2 weeks from receiving your pod to shipping it.
- 4. If the M30600T-RPD-E and M30610T-RPD-E emulation pods (overseas versions) are remodeled, they lose the capability for use in overseas.
- For technical inquiries about the remodeling, contact your local Renesas Technology sales office or distributor.
