Upgraded Versions Announcement

This is to announce that C compiler (with assembler and integrated development environment) NC30WA, assembler AS30, and real-time OS MR30 for the M16C/60 and M16C/20 series of microcomputers have been upgraded.


Descriptions of Upgrading
Outlines of upgrading are as follows:

  1. C Compiler NC30
    (1) The following functions are supported:
    SBDATA declaration utility "SBUTL"
    Assembler macro functions
    Optimization of automatic assignment of register variables.
    (2) All of the problems notified on our tool news have been fixed.

  2. Assembler AS30
    (1) The search sequence of include files is the same as in NC30.
    (2) The following problems notified on our tool news have been fixed:
    • Programs containing a structured description instruction "elif" may not correctly be step-executed in the trace window of debugger software.
      (For details refer to Tool News No. 3 on May 1, 1998.)

    • A macro local label is not correctly defined when the label is described immediately after a binary operator placed after a decimal value in a macro definition.
      (For details refer to Tool News No. 3 on October 16, 1998.)

  3. Load Module Converter lmc30
    (1) The function of the command option selecting a type of output of ROM protect information has been modified.
    (2) The following problem has been fixed:
    when the address of a section where data exists and the one of a section where data does not are the same, and the latter section is linked later than the former address, the items of data existing in the same and later addresses may not be output to the machine-language file.
    (For details refer to Tool News No. 3 on February 16, 1999.)

  4. Absolute Lister abs30
    (1)The following problem has been fixed:
    in description lines using assembler directive ".ALIGN", placing whitespaces before and after a comma that delimits character strings may result in errors.

  5. Cross Referencer xrf30
    (1) The maximum number of files that can be processed at a time has been extended up to 600.

  6. Integrated Development Environment TM
    (1) Projects can be produced by using real-time OS.
    (2) The launching of debuggers enables download to be performed, as well as parameters to be set.
    (3) When creating a Makefile the following customization functions are available:
    • Building configurators of the load module converter and real-time OS and batch files produced by the user.
    • Selecting an option for each source file.
    (4) Projects can be produced in existing directories.
    (5) Tree windows and output windows can be docked and/or floated.

  7. Real-Time OS MR30
    (1) Any of timers B3, B4, and B5 of the M16C/62 group can be used as the system timer of MR30.
    (2) Timers X0--X2 and A5--A7 of M16C/20 series are usable as timers of MR30.
    (3) Programs can be developed efficiently on the integrated development environment (TM).
