PD38 V.3.00 Release 1A
Upgraded Version Announcement

This is to announce that emulator debugger PD38 for the 740 family of microcomputers has been upgraded to V.3.00 Release 1.
Descriptions
PD38 V.3.00 Release 1 is an emulator debugger for the 740 family of 8-bit microcomputers. Hosted on a PC running Windows, it controls the operation of the PC4701 emulator (PC4701M/PC4701HS/PC4701L) to debug application programs and target systems.
It has been upgraded from its preceding version, PD38 V.2.00 Release 1, as follows:
Functions Extended
The functions explained below have been introduced to the upgraded version.
- Supporting new emulator PC4701M
- Functions added on Program and Source Windows
- By placing the mouse cursor on a C variable for a fixed time, the value of the variable is displayed on the popup window.
- Results of coverage measurement can be displayed.
- Right-clicking the mouse allows the user to jump to selected functions or make entries of selected variables in the C-watch window.
- Functions added on C-Watch Window
- The values of variables can be displayed during execution of the target program by using the information of the RAM monitor function.
- The elements of an array and the contents a pointer points to can be displayed.
- A RADIX can be modified for each variable.
- Functions added on Trace Window
- Execution history can be recorded up to 32K cycles.
- Trace measurement can be forced to stop during execution of the target program to reference the results of tracing. The trace measurement forced to stop can be resumed.
- The execution time for each instruction is displayed in DIS and SRC display modes.
Problems Fixed
The following problems encountered in the preceding PD38 V.2.00 Release 1 have been fixed:
- When executing the G command (in the earlier command system), the target program cannot be stopped at any break address if the instruction at the address is 2 bytes long or more.

- In M37531, M37532, M37536, and M37630 MCUs, the firmware file included with PD38 V.2.00 Release 1 cannot be used.

- Information at storing data and one at reading the data differ each other in the following two items of information:
- Information on hardware breakpoints in the hardware breakpoint setting dialog box
- Information on trace points in the trace point setting dialog box (for emulators PC4701HS and PC4700H only)

- The customer who has their serial number : Select upgrading by CD-ROM. Please ensure the serial number of your product is filled in after VUP in the comments.
