PD30 V.4.00 Release 1 Upgraded Version Announcement

This is to announce that emulator debugger PD30 for the M16C/60 and M16C/20 series of microcomputers has been upgraded to V.4.00 Release 1.
Descriptions
PD30 V.4.00 Release 1 is an emulator debugger for the M16C/60 and M16C/20 series of 16-bit microcomputers. Hosted on a PC running Windows, it controls the operation of the PC4701 emulator (PC4701M/PC4701HS/PC4701L) to debug application programs and target systems.
It has been upgraded from its preceding version, PD30 V.3.00 Release 1A, as follows:
Functions Extended
The functions explained below have been introduced to the upgraded version.
- Supporting new emulator PC4701M
- Functions added on Program and Source Windows
- By placing the mouse cursor on a C variable for a fixed time, the value of the variable is displayed on the popup window.
- Results of coverage measurement can be displayed.
- Right-clicking the mouse allows the user to jump to selected functions or make entries of selected variables in the C-watch window.
- Functions added on C-Watch Window
- The values of variables can be displayed during execution of the target program by using the information of the RAM monitor function.
- The elements of an array and the objects of a pointer can be displayed.
- A RADIX can be modified for each variable.
- Functions added on Trace Window
- Execution history can be recorded up to 32K cycles.
- Trace measurement can be forced to stop during execution of the target program to reference the results of tracing. The trace measurement forced to stop can be resumed.
- The execution time for each instruction is displayed in DIS and SRC display modes.
- MR Task Pause Window introduced
On this new window a selected task can be suspended and resumed while the program is running, if the program has been created with real-time OS MR30.
Problems Fixed
The following problems encountered in the preceding PD30 V.3.00 Release 1A have been fixed:
- On setting work areas
- Work areas cannot be set when any mcu file is selected except M30620.mcu.
- Work areas cannot be set outside the range of 2C00h--3FFFh.

- On upload function
- When a Motorola S format file is generated using the [File] -> [Upload] menu or the UploadMot command, the check sum of the end record (the final line) cannot correctly be output.
- When a Motorola S format file within an address range is generated using the [File] -> [Upload] menu or the UploadMot command, data in part of the range may not be output.

- When debugging module files generated by IAR's C compiler ICCM16C, the values of Auto variables entered in the C-watch and local windows cannot correctly be displayed.
