PD30 and PD38
Precautions

Please take note of the following problem in using emulator debuggers PD30 for the M16C/60 and M16C/20 series and PD38 for the 740 series of microcomputers.

Products Concerned

  1. PD30 V.4.00 Release 1
  2. PD38 V.3.00 Release 1

Note: M38000TL2-FPD, M38000TL-FPD, and M38000T-FPD are not concerned with this problem.

Problem
Even when the external clock is selected as the MCU clocks (Main and Sub) using the Clock tab in the Init dialog box, the emulator debugger will automatically switch to the internal clock immediately after it has started.

Workaround
Specify the MCU clocks by either of the following methods:
(1)Execute CLocK commands in the script window after launching PDxx.
(2)Prepare a script file in which CLocK commands are described; then launch PDxx by designating the prepared file as the Init file.

For details of the CLocK command and the Init file, refer to the Table of Script Commands section in the Reference chapter and the PDxx Setup section in the Setup chapter, respectively, in User's Manual.

Schedule of Fixing Problem
We plan to fix this problem in our next release.
