MESC TOOL NEWS:
MESCT-PD308-990716D
Please take note of the following problem in using emulator debugger PD308 for the M16C/80 series of microcomputers.
- Version Concerned
The following version of the product is concerned with this problem:
PD308 V.1.00 Release 1
- Description
Accessing in 8-bit bus width may result in incorrect display of disassembled codes being generated in the trace window, as well as incorrect execution of TraceList commands.
- Conditions
If the following three conditions are satisfied, the disassembled codes from the 19th prefetch cycle to the subsequent QC cycle are displayed incorrectly.
- 3.1 Access is made in 8-bit bus width[*1]
- 3.2 In an interval between two successive QC cycles[*2], 19 prefetch cycles[*3] or more are contained.
- 3.3 The 19th prefetch cycle behind a QC cycle has an even address.
- *1 In this case the '8b' is displayed in the 'BUS' column of Trace Window.
- *2 Cycles where the state of BIU is QC and that of R/W is R are named QC cycles.
- *3 Cycles where the state of BIU is F and that of R/W is R are named prefetch cycles.
- Schedule of Fixing Problem
We plan to fix this problem in our next release.
