This is to announce that C compiler (with assembler and integrated development environment) NC79WA and assembler AS79 for the 7900 series of microcomputers have been upgraded both to their V.3.10 Release 2.
- Descriptions of Upgrading in NC79WA V.3.10 Release 2
The following two problems presented in Tool News "NC308WA, NC30WA, NC79WA, and NC77WA Precautions" on May 16,1999, have been fixed:
- 1.1 A "System Error" occurs if the number of elements of an array of type far with initial values is greater than 32767.
- 1.2 Compiling programs described with sizeof operators may cause "Page Faults" or "Core Dumps" to be generated
- Descriptions of Upgrading in AS79 V.3.10 Release 2
- 2.1 The following two functions have been introduced to eliminate problems presented in Technical News No. M7700-45-9906 and No. M7700-49-9907:
- 2.1.1 A warning message is displayed if the I flag is set by using the SEP instruction.

- 2.1.2 The option "-ABLX" is added to display a warning message when the last address of an instruction code that is processed in the absolute-long indexed-X addressing mode is located at the end of a bank.

- 2.2 The following problem has been fixed:
- 2.2.1 When a bit symbol is described in an operand of a bit manipulation instruction, codes of one or another addressing mode may be generated depending on whether labels are defined or not.
